Acevedo joins Symphonic Board

(Stockton,CA) Bilingual Weekly’s president, Gene Acevedo was elected to the Stockton Symphony’s 2010-11 Board of Directors as Vice President of Marketing.

Acevedo joins the 24-member board with marketing experience, community engagement and his Latino advocacy in hopes to bridge the symphony with the largest growing population. He is the first Latino ever elected to the symphony’s board.

“Latino audiences have, historically, enjoyed symphonic music,” said Acevedo, pointing out one of the highest selling Juan Gabriel albums is his “Celebración de los 25 Años de Juan Gabriel en Bellas Artes” a symphonic recording.

The Stockton Symphony enters its 84th Season with a goal of education, engagement, and new artistic heights.  On September 18th the Symphony will be performing a free family concert at the Family Day at the Park.
