Sustainability talks to include Stocktonians

Three Stocktonians are going to Milwaukee to help grow the good food revolution… and bring it home.
Jeremy Terhune, from the non-profit organization United Promoters for National Awareness of Sustainable Technologies (PUENTES, Spanish acronym), Betsy Reifsnider, from Catholic Charities and a member of PUENTES’ Citizens Advisory Committee will join some 2,000 expected attendees to the Growing Power’s National-International Urban & Small Farm Conference to be held September 10-12, 2010 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Hosted by Growing Power—a national organization dedicated to sustainable urban farming—this international conference promises participants could learn how to plan, develop and grow small farms in urban and rural areas. Other areas to be covered include working cooperatively with city and state governments, as well as, renewable energy in local agricultural systems.
