Filmmaker to highlight screening

Award-winner Mexican screenwriter and director Juan Carlos Rulfo is scheduled to attend Modesto’s State Theatre for the début screening of his documentary “Los que se quedan (Those Left Behind)”The Saturday, October 2, 2010 event will go from 4 to 10 pm. The event will begin on J Street and later move inside the theater for the screening. Following the show, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the director.  “There will be a car show during the day along with Charros and their dancing horses and inside the theatre the documentary will be shown,” said Maggie Mejia, Latino Community Roundtable (LCR) spokesperson and one of the event’s coordinator, adding that admission is free to all.
The Mexican Consul General at Sacramento, Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez is also expected to attend. For further information, call (209) 303-2664.
