Thomas A Benigno / Former Republican Central committee member
By the time this article is published the election will be over. We hope everyone that was registered voter voted. The big question now, will your life be any different?
All the promises that were made now need time to be sorted out by the winners. Will they have the time to do the sorting? Likely not. Most elected officials don’t care about you personally, but your vote.
We are now living in one the worst times that I can remember. We are now entering a new form of lifestyle, one that equals the Third World countries.
Our ability to build usable goods and sell them to other countries made us the largest economy in the world. We need to step up and demand that the outsourcing of American jobs stop now. Candidates such as Fiorina who helped the outsourcing of 30,000 jobs of H.P. out of our country harmed our workforce. Now she wants to be our Senator. We don’t have much of a choice between her and Boxer, but I think Boxer will do less to hurt America.
Not too many choices folks.
Politics has come a long way in the last 70 years. Now we are seeing as was predicted by many scholars in the 1930′s, that the tide would turn against America, and we could become a socialist government.
In short, they are forcing us to believe that we need all these programs that are controlled by local, state & federal government. We need to get out and vote to change the structure of government back the way it was.
The need to fight wars was a major factor for President Roosevelt with his declaration of war against Japan, but Bush’s stand was not declared by Congress. With that in mind, it changed America to be a military government. That is not bad, but we can’t afford to fund the military and wars without our economy intact.
Yes it is a new day, but one with many problems to cure before we can get back on our feet once again. I’m optimistic about the future, only if we can create jobs for the American people.
In closing, I would like to see the unions and state employees re-negotiate their contracts until we can get back on our feet, so that the private sector can once again start to hire people to stimulate the economy the right way.
Hopefully, if nothing else but to payoff this major debt that both parties have created.
