Tonight: Cougars kick to feed the hungry

Stockton CA / Bilingual Weekly

The California Cougars are seeking a return to the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro) Championships for a third straight year, and a chance at their second title. All of the Cougar’s eight regular season home games and their opening US Open Cup game will be played at the Stockton Arena.

The team opened its season at home against the defending league champions San Diego Sockers on Sunday, November 14, 2010. The Sockers proved why they are champions, beating the locals 10-6.

The Pacific Northwest journeys and the annual San Diego-Tijuana road trip highlight the Cougars’ away games. The Cougars will also play a total of three games against teams from the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League (CMISL) as part of their 16-game regular season slate. The Stockton team will host the Edmonton Drillers, while traveling up to the Canadian Prairie to take on Edmonton and Calgary United.

The Cougars also have a Holiday Food Drive tonight, November 19th, on their 7 p.m. date against Tijuana, benefiting the St. Mary’s Interfaith Dining Hall, and next week in a Winter Clothing Drive for their December 27th game against San Diego.
