The final championship round of the San Joaquin County Mock Trial competition took place February 28, 2011, at the Wentworth Education Center of the San Joaquin County Office of Education. The two top scoring teams from the Saturday competition, Tracy High and Venture Academy Family of Schools, vied for first place and the right to go to the State competition scheduled in Riverside, CA on March 25-27. Both teams’ prosecution and defense teams went head to head to earn the prized spot in Riverside.
The rounds were followed by a reception and awards ceremony announcing the winning team.
First-Place team: Tracy High School, Tracy Unified School District
Second-Place team: Venture Academy Family of Schools, San Joaquin County Office of Education
First-Place plaque for journalism: Quiran Xie, Tracy High, Tracy Unified School District
