STOCKTON, CA – The Stockton Asparagus Festival will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 15 through April 17, 2011. Festival set-up will begin this weekend. City Hall and surrounding City of Stockton office buildings are located inside the Asparagus Festival footprint. Parking and access to buildings within the Festival area will be limited. City offices will be closed Friday, April 8, 2011, and Friday, April 15, 2011, for furlough. Beginning Sunday, April 10, 2011, Center Street between Oak Street and Weber Avenue will be closed to all vehicles to accommodate set-up of the event and will remain closed until Festival fencing removal is complete on Monday, April 18, 2011. Streets within the Asparagus Festival footprint will be blocked to through traffic, and parking during the Festival, April 15 through April 17, will be limited to designated areas. Monthly passes and card access for City operated parking lots are not valid during Asparagus Festival weekend, April 16 and April 17. Many streets in the downtown area will be posted with no parking signs. Vehicles parked, stopped, or left standing in posted areas will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.
