Stockton, CA –
Sunday, May 22 at 3:00 PM the Bob Hope Theatre will host Corazón de México (Heart of Mexico) by dance company Compañia Mazatlán Bellas Artes(CMBA) under the direction of Steven Valencia.
Valencia has “personally received the Maestro Award by the Latino Arts Network of California in Los Ángeles,” he admitted to Bilingual Weekly in a telephone interview.
Valencia described Corazón de México as “a spectrum of dance, with traditional and contemporary elements.”
Media contact for the event, Mindy Giles said, “Valencia, thirty-five young dancers (ages16-30) and a live Latin American music ensemble present a rendition of Mexican culture and heritage, both past and present.”
“For lovers of fine ballet folklórico dance, the Corazón de México is colorful and creative, featuring indigenous and folkloric dance costumes and traditions, with accents on their award-winning pieces performed in international competitions.”
Valencia’s goal is about “showing the professional level, beauty and magic of our culture with energy and dance.”
