Stockton, CA –
1971 Pacific Graduates Noël M. Ferris and Armando Flores will be welcomed to the University of Pacific’s Board of Regents beginning July 1, 2011 along with Kevin Huber, and Fawzi Al-Saleh.
“Both Armando and Noël are great additions to the Regents and will bring unique and valuable perspectives to Pacific’s governing board,” said Tom Zuckerman, chair of the Board of Regents.
Armando Flores, director of Community Relations and Administration for the Arizona State Baseball Program, and Noël Ferris, a partner in the Sacramento law firm of Noël M. Ferris, were elected during the spring 2011 Sacramento Regents meeting April 20-22. Fawzi Al-Saleh and Kevin Huber, were elected in January.
“The University of the Pacific Board of Regents is entrusted with final responsibility for the quality and integrity of the education provided by the University. The President, approves the mission of the University, and ensures provision of adequate resources to support the University. In addition, the Board protects the University from external pressures antithetical to academic freedom and to University autonomy or integrity,” explained Marketing Director of the University Patrick Giblin
It is expected that both appointees will understand Pacific’s challenges. “Besides being graduates, both have been active in the Pacific community and are familiar with some of the challenges facing Pacific, as well as its many strengths,” commented Zuckerman
