The 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class has extended its range with immediate effect with the arrival of B  Class Electric Drive (electric vehicle) and the B 200 Natural Gas Drive (bi-fuel model petrol and LPG).

Both models use the concept of modular body "ENERGY SPACE". Thus in the basement of these models the lithium ions ( B Class Electric Drive) or a large tank and two small gas and a fuel tank of 14 liters (B 200 Natural Gas) are housed. With this clever distribution and location of components the five-seat vehicle maintains the generous capacity in the trunk (about 500 liters) that has become so popular in its segment.

Electric Drive B Class and B Class Natural Gas Drive in its exterior design combines sportiness and refined aesthetic values with smooth and powerful lines. These models differ from the versions with gasoline or diesel in many details especially in the form of the front spoiler and rear apron and side skirts.

Also inside the cabin there are differences as both models feature elements as the front display or areas of the dashboard. In addition Mercedes-Benz has renewed the program models and adapted to the structure of supply of the other compact models. The two lines of new equipment for models with alternative propulsion are now called Style and Urban. The B Class Electric Drive is available in addition to the line equipment Electric Art.

Of course the latest technologies reach the restyling of the B Class using the "Mercedes Connect me" system. The communication module fitted as standard allows the use of basic services such as accident management maintenance or malfunction.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive

With the pride of being one of the few models on the market to recharge your batteries 100% in just three hours the B Class  Electric Drive is a breakthrough conducted by the Stuttgart brand.

The electric motor with high torque to enjoy a fast and safe driving with a range of up to 200 kilometers without local emissions. The preclimatización the serial implemented innovative interior optional equipment such as recuperative braking system assisted by radar and expanding autonomy PLUS RANGE increase driving comfort and utility for everyday use.

The quiet and free of direct emissions propulsion is provided by an electric motor of 132 kW of power as is usual in this type of propellers delivers its torque greater than 340 Nm maximum just inside the accelerator. This figure is equivalent to the torque of a gasoline engine three-liter engine.

Thus the electric B Class completes the sprint from 0-100 km / h in just 7.9 seconds offering an agile and dynamic performance in any situation.

The energy consumed by the electric drive comes from a lithium-ion high power with a capacity of 28 kWh installed in a safe place and whose magazine is mounted in the engine compartment. Recharging is as simple as fueling a vehicle with a combustion engine and is done in 3 hours when connected to an AC three-phase current (400V).

Mercedes-Benz B 200 Natural Gas Drive

For those seeking an intermediate option in alternative energies bi-fuel version of the B Class offers up to 16% less CO2 emissions exhaust clearly cleaner than gasoline or diesel and fuel costs approximately concept 50% lower than a combustion engine.

Operating with natural gas the B 200 Natural Gas Drive 115 kW (156 hp) recorded a consumption of just 4.2 l / 100 km equivalent to CO2 emissions of 115 g / km. Consequently emissions are 16% below the figures B 200 BlueEFFICIENCY petrol engine identical power. However benefits are located almost at the same level: the B 200 Natural Gas Drive reaches a top speed of 200 km / h and completes the standard sprint from 0-100 km / h in 9.1 seconds.

Available with 7G-DCT automatic or manual the new model corresponds to the energy A class + and meets the Euro 6 standard and benefits from aid as PIVE 6 Plan.

The B 200 Natural Gas Drive works on the principle monovalent + (works primarily with gas). Only in emergencies is planned a small tank with capacity of 12 liters. If the gas is exhausted the vehicle automatically switches mode imperceptible to gasoline.

Since the driver can not activate the mode with gasoline Drive B 200 Natural Gas vehicle is certified as natural gas with consequent tax advantages. The self-government in natural gas is about 500 kilometers.
