More than 50 years later Borgward automotive brand is reborn as the new BX7 Concept an SUV up to 7 seats including a plug-in hybrid version of 395 hp.
The legendary German brand Borgward returns to the automotive scene after more than 50 years after ceasing production in the 60s of last century. With the financial backing of the Chinese company Foton Motor Borgward attends official BX7 revival with the new Concept officially unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new Borgward BX7 Concept SUV is a 4.7 m long whose interior can accommodate five six or seven passengers depending on version. Cargo volume can reach 1344 liters if the second and third rows of seats fold.
Initially mechanical Borgward BX7 Concept offer will consist of a gasoline turbocharged 2.0 four-cylinder and 221 hp. This petrol engine is combined with a unique all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission with double clutch. For this variant of BX7 Borgward announced an acceleration of 0-100 km / h in under 10 seconds and a top speed of 200 km / h.
For those fans of the versions with certain organic dye Borgward has also developed a plug-in hybrid variant for BX7. In the bowels of the hybrid system they take center stage a gasoline engine 2.0 turbo four-cylinder and electric motor-generator. The total power of the hybrid system is 295 kW (about 395 hp) while in electric mode hundred percent this SUV can get to go around about 55 km.
Inside the Borgward BX7 Concept it offers modern and quality elements among which its information system navigation entertainment and connectivity in which the central element revolves around a touch screen of 12.3 inches. This multimedia system is compatible with Android and iOS devices.
China is the first country to see the new Borgward BX7 roll. Their marketing is confirmed for other countries and according to reports the starting price in Germany will be 26000 euros.
