Students of the University of Stuttgart have developed a small electric sports car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 1.779 seconds which would become the new Guinness World Record. 1.779 seconds this is the brief time it takes to accelerate a hundred small electric sports hundred developed by students at the University of Stuttgart (Germany).
The little speedster in question presents a design with certain sports like body type without Ariel Atom or KTM X-Bow. According to the official pictures this electric lightning seems smaller than the Atom and KTM.
The total power of its four electric motors (one near each wheel) is 100 kW (around 136 hp). The total weight of this sport is 160 kg so we are talking about a power to weight ratio of 1.6 kg / kW (or 1.17 kg / hp). This lightness and the fact of having all-wheel drive are key to this electric rocket accelerate so fast.
After several attempts finally from the University of Stuttgart the figure of 1.779 seconds was confirmed. In the coming weeks the organization responsible for the Guinness World Records is responsible to witness and certify that record making it official. So far the vehicle holds the record for acceleration is the ETH Zurich with 0.006 seconds more than the students athletic Stuttgart.
