Hyundai has unveiled details of its new 1.6 GDI petrol engine for future hybrids of the South Korean brand and a new automatic transmission. Hyundai is ready to throw a whopper Toyota Prius. Its future hybrid car that will rival the Japanese car will already know how the thermal part. The new 1.6 GDI gasoline brand was presented at the International Conference of Engines of the company: it is a mechanism that combines Atkinson cycle and cooled exhaust gas (EGR) recirculation.
According to Hyundai these features make the new gasoline engine 3 percent more efficient as far as fuel consumption is concerned and with 40 percent better thermal efficiency. Develops 105 hp and 15 Nm of torque and as we said lay the foundation for future plug-in hybrids and hybrids of the South Korean brand.
Another innovation presented by Hyundai is a new dual-clutch automatic transmission eight speeds for its front-wheel drive cars. According to the Asian manufacturer compared to the current six-speed automatic transmission this new permit 7.3 percent less on fuel besides being lighter (3.5 kg less) faster and quieter.
