Many automakers are now at a crossroads where they must decide what the future of vehicles with combustion engines: go extinct gradually over the years and the development of clean energy and adapt to the change of scenery and combined with these new energies.
Peugeot is one of the brands that are more invested in the last decade and this work has emerged the innovative HYbrid4 technology which manages to offer four-wheel drive vehicles through the work of a small electric motor driving the rear wheels.
The HYbrid4 diesel engine Full Hybrid is based on the joint use of four technologies: diesel engine electric motor ignition system STOP & START and sequential gearbox piloted. The result is a working system consisting exploit the virtues of the whole vehicle for every need.
In this way and through a joystick on the center console of the vehicle the driver can choose easily even while on the move which of the 4 driving modes needs at all times: Auto Sport 4WD and ZEV.
Before delving into each driving mode the engine commenting associated with HYbrid4 technology is 2.1 HDi FAP diesel engine of 163 hp which is supplemented by an electric motor of 27 kW (37 hp) ideal for driving in town. The battery located in the rear of the vehicle recharging in the deceleration and braking of the vehicle allowing reduction in consumption of the set.
The STOP & START system reversible alternator and the heat engine starts whenever traffic conditions allow. This system also generates a reduction in consumption and emissions.
Manages the entire hybrid electronic automatically set especially transitions between diesel and electric motors. Thus each of the 4 driving modes gives the driver an adequate profit to every need.
AUTO mode provides optimal performance by combining a content consumption with a good dynamic performance so it is the vehicle itself that chooses whether to operate the heat engine electric or both.
The 4WD (four wheel drive) mode increases the motor at low speed when moving continuously all four wheels of the vehicle: the diesel engine which drives the front axle and the electric motor which does the same with the rear operate simultaneously at speeds up to 120 km / h. Suitable when ground conditions are more difficult than usual.
The SPORT mode provides better performance for a more dynamic driving. In this mode the diesel engine and electric motor work together up to 120 km / h.
Finally the ZEV mode (Zero Emission Vehicle) ensures 100% electric driving tailored to the city with increased acoustic comfort and without any emissions while the vehicle is moving and working only with the electric motor. Available up to 60 km / h with sufficient battery power.
Vehicle Range HYbrid4
Currently the range of vehicles equipped with this technology is based on two models the Peugeot 508 and 3008.
Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4
This crossover Full Hybrid inaugurated the association diesel and electricity. With its unique design the 3008 HYbrid4
reaffirms his personality potency safety and advanced technology offering the vehicle a consumption of 3.5 liters per 100 kilometers maximizing the benefits of equipping 16-inch wheels and tires ultra -low rolling resistance.
Peugeot 508 RXH
The 508 RXH diesel associates the Full Hybrid technology to a distinctive look to offer an original interpretation of the world of todotorreneo. With its unique design and innovative technology has all the characteristics of high-end models and combined cycle fuel consumption of 4.1 l / 100 km characteristics.
Peugeot 508 HYbrid4
The 508 range has recently been extended with a proposal HYbrid4
powertrain for a sedan. This full hybrid technology is a revolution in terms of consumption and CO2 emissions. for the other reviews about the newest cars visit here.
