In the upcoming Geneva Motor Show Skoda presented its prototype VisionS. This advance what the SUV that will go on sale at the end of the year and shares most of mechanical elements in Seat SUV. Skoda VisionS presented on 1 March at the Geneva Motor anticipates what the next SUV of the Czech brand. His name according to Skoda was chosen because it anticipates the view that the mark has on the SUV hence the final S. The name of the final model is not known but it is speculated that could Snowman (making a Gino the current Skoda Yeti) or Kodiak.
This prototype Skoda VisionS measures 4.70 meters long (Skoda Yeti is 4.22 meters long) 1.91 wide and 1.68 high. It can accommodate six occupants spread over three rows of seats although the final production version that hits the street will accommodate a total of seven with three staying in the middle row. The latter have two folding seats under the trunk floor.
The future Skoda SUV will share most of its mechanical components with the upcoming Seat SUV but have a slightly larger than the size Seat. Skoda will start its commercial life SUV later this year or in January 2017. It will do with the aforementioned seven-seat version although later could reach one in five. It is speculated that markets such as China where Skoda has a high level of sales could be a variant of the coupe body style BMW X4.
The probable mechanical range of Skoda would be composed of three gasoline engines between 125 and 220 hp and as many Diesel 120 to 190 hp. There will be versions with four-wheel drive or front only in the case of the less powerful variants.
The price? For now only known the Volkswagen Tiguan (available from € 29560) and it is assumed that both Seat and Skoda will be cheaper or for the same rate they will offer a series heavier equipment.
