Up with Education: A workshop for Latino Families to apply for scholarships

(bw) STOCKTON, CA – The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SJCHCC), in partnership with the University of the Pacific and other community organizations, hosted the 9th Annual Student Financial Aid and College Awareness Workshop during the morning of Sunday, January 29th at the A.G. Spanos Hall at University of the Pacific in Stockton.

K-12 classrooms are often in the center of a debate on trimming the budget through cutting the arts. Should we keep art classes, teachers, and the supplies that tag along with it? Could the funding better serve the students and community through Math, Science, English and other topics of interest?

(bw) Stockton, CA — A Community Credit Union in partnership with Junior Achievement held its 2nd annual free Financial Camp for 3rd-5th grades on Tuesday, September 27th.
Through interactive activities kids learned the importance of earning, spending, sharing and saving money.

San Joaquin County, CA – The twenty-fifth annual San Joaquin County Science Olympiad Competition for grades 3-6 was held at Ronald McNair High School on Saturday, April 2. Thirty-five schools and fifty-nine teams from across the county participated in twenty-four different science events throughout the one-day competition. Top scoring students and teams received medals, plaques, and grants in addition to participation zipper pulls. Continue reading
