Cheap sports-below the GT86- is becoming a reality. On the occasion of the Tokyo Motor Show 2016 which starts next month Toyota exhibited at its booth the S-FR Racing Concept which comes to racing variant of the small sports prototype we saw at the beginning of last October.
Being a racing variant one of the first things to address has been aesthetics. Whether we like it but now thanks to its radicalization we like even more. It has been equipped with an aerodynamic kit consisting of a new more prominent front lip rear spoiler large monotuerca tires lowered suspension rear diffuser plus flared wheel arches.
Much of the body is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic to contain the most weight. All aforementioned affects a clear variation in dimensions as shown by additional 110mm in length (4100 mm in total) compared to the original model and its width totaling 40 mm to 1735 mm and height that lowered to 1270 mm (from 1.320 mm).
What remains a mystery is its engine. If the street version is expected to start marketing next year is rumored that the 1.2 will extracted three cylinders of the European Auris with an output of 115 hp some rumors suggest that this prototype would have the Block JDM Toyota Corolla direct injection with an output of 130 hp and 148 Nm of torque. It is a commendable improvement in power but considering the overall weight these hp engine and other extras that would clearly evident in his response.
